Lena: Portrait Session
Recently I’ve registered at different photography sites, where photographers share their works, become virtual friends, and everyone can get analytical and constructive critiques. This week I posted a couple of the photos taken at different period of times to Toronto Photo Club and today one of them became Photo of the Day, and it is Lena’s portrait which is an absolute fav by many onlookers.
It was a cold day in January, so we decided to have an indoor session. Lena chose three outfits, feminine and romantic ones. I loved them so much! I enjoyed photographing her – all her poses so natural, soft and feminine, and even cinematic if you want. Here are some of my favourites. Isn’t she just Gorgeous?!
Creative Photography Project
I just got home from having a simply wonderful day. Actually I have been waiting for that day since I decided to participate in a creative project. So I developed my concept, all the necessary props for its realization were bought, I talked to the model about the details of this stylized photo shooting, and so the only thing left was the weather and the timing. And it was today! I was super excited, everything worked perfect for me – the weather, the location, the model, and the props. Having chosen Tanya as my model turned out to be a pleasant surprise for me, as she overcame my expectations. That’s the thing about that girl. She modelled so naturally and so artistically at the same time… and it’s one of her finest qualities. Amongst many. We spent the day laughing, enjoying each other’s company…sheer awesomeness!
When the official photo shooting was over, the props were packed, Tanya changed her clothes back, and we were nearly leaving the location, she asked me to take some more shots of her (show must go on!). We still had some minutes of the golden hour, and I grabbed the camera out of the bag and took some more shots to finish that wonderful day. I can’t wait to blog images from today’s official stylized photoset, but I’ll have to wait for a while, so instead I’ll post some of my favourites of our last minutes fun shooting. Enjoy!
Every photo has its story
Yesterday I was organizing my stuff on the hard drive (I am an everything-should-be-in-order kind of girl) and came across a folder with some photos taken in May, 2010 by my first DSLR camera (yes, only 2 years ago). I looked through the photos quickly, they were my first shots while I was trying to figure out the camera pre-sets, playing with composition and with the ambient light. My first model was my friend (I assume the scenario is same with every photographer-to-be person).
I would like you to meet my best friend Tatiana. She is a beautiful girl, smart, educated, with a sense of humour, and always in good mood. She is a shopaholic and a travel geek!
I believe that we can have a lot of childhood friends, some good friends, and nice colleagues… but only ONE best friend. She is my friend, and she is the best!
